Based on the educational game "Reconstructors" and using the same characters, this game instead focuses on the "hunt for infection diseases". It is the year 2254, twelve years after the end of the Great Plague that ran through the Earth’s population killing millions and causing the collapse of civilization. An elite group of scientists known as the RECONSTRUCTORS team is charged with preventing the spread of infectious diseases in this bleak time and has recruited you into the Neuropolis Center for Disease Control (NCDC). In Mission 1: Orientation At O.R.B., the future of Neuropolis depends on you to pass five challenges to become a certified NCDC agent. In Mission 2: Peril In Prokaryon, it is up to you to stop the spread of the mysterious diarrheal disease outbreak and end a conflict caused by refugees from an earthquake. In Mission 3: Nemesis At Neuropolis, it is up to you to prevent smallpox from spreading and to determine how a disease that is supposed to have been eliminated has returned. In Mission 4: Malady In Mabuufo, you are needed immediately to help with treatment and prevention efforts for an outbreak of malaria in Africa. In Mission 5: Zero-Hour Zoonosis, you are needed to collect as much information as possible about zoonoses and to explore Neuropolis for any potential zoonotic outbreaks. Who are the terrorists and can they be stopped in time? An additional two missions called MedMyst: Reloaded include Disease Defenders where it is up to you to complete the epidemiology, microbiology, and veterinary medicine challenges to earn your place among the team, and Animal Alert! has you choose to investigate the disease outbreak as an epidemiologist, microbiologist, or veterinarian to determine what is making people sick. |
